Engine Options

Being a kit aircraft you can fit any suitable engine you wish to the Xair, but the two most popular and suitable are the Rotax 503 or 582.
The Rotax 503DCDI is air-cooled, while the 582 is liquid cooled, both these engines feature dual electronic ignition, reduction gear boxes, and to be fitted with 2 or 3 blade ground adjustable props and have optional electric starters.
These Rotax engines are two strokes designed to run on normal unleaded automotive fuel mixed with two-stroke oil, similar to motorcycles. Hence there is no need to go in search of aviation fuel which makes the X-AIR less dependent on airfields and aviation fuel supplies. The fuel tank capacity of 54 litre's gives a comfortable endurance of 3 hours at normal cruise.
